The University of Saint Joseph's Annual 5 X 5 Dance Festival celebrated its eleventh anniversary in the fall and Miceli Productions captured archive footage of the performances.
Called one of the state's most important dance events, the festival features interaction between professional and collegiate dancers. Performances and master classes are held at the Center's Bruyette Athenaeum in West Hartford, Connecticut. This year's festival featured original choreography from four collegiate ensembles: University of Saint Joseph, Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Trinity College, and seven professional companies: Sonia Plumb Dance Company, Exit 12 Dance Company, Life Dance Company, Ballet Theatre Company, ATTAK Dance Company, The NADINE Project, and dancEnlight.
The 5x5 Dance Festival brings together choreographers, performers, educators and students to study, perform and create new work. The Festival encourages an exploration of a wide spectrum of dance/movement disciplines. Artists, students and audiences share their creation and inspiration through master classes, workshops, discussions and performances.
